The Lighthouse and the Tide
In a coastal village where the waves kissed the cliffs and the wind carried whispers of forgotten dreams, there stood an old lighthouse. It had been there for as long as anyone could remember, casting its steady beam across the restless sea.
Lena, a young woman from the village, often found herself drawn to the lighthouse, especially in February when the winds grew fierce and the tides unpredictable. She longed for clarity, for a sense of direction in the shifting tides of her life.
One evening, as she sat at the base of the towering structure, the old lighthouse keeper approached. "Lost in thought again, Lena?" he asked with a kind smile.
"I feel like the waves keep pulling me in different directions," she sighed. "I know I have so much to give, but I can’t seem to find my way."
The keeper nodded, gazing out at the horizon. "The lighthouse stands firm, not because it resists the wind or the sea, but because it understands its purpose. It knows when to shine and when to stand still, allowing the tide to come and go without fear."
Lena listened, the words settling deep within her heart. "But what if I get overwhelmed by everything around me?"
"The key," the keeper said gently, "is balance. You must learn to trust your own light while allowing the tide to shape you. Strength comes not from control, but from knowing when to stand tall and when to let go."
That night, as Lena walked home, she realized the lighthouse wasn’t just guiding ships—it was guiding her. She didn’t need to resist the currents of life; she simply needed to trust herself, set boundaries, and shine when the time was right.
Reflection:
February invites us to embrace our inner lighthouse—standing firm in our truth while allowing life’s natural ebb and flow to shape us. Balance, trust, and the wisdom to know when to shine are our greatest allies this month.
