Speak Your Truth
Words have power.
They can build someone up, but they can also bring someone down. Today, become especially conscious of the words you choose and the energy behind them.
There is a difference between speaking your truth and trying to convince someone that your truth should also be theirs.
Sometimes we feel something strongly and immediately want to explain it, defend it or make the other person understand. But the more we push, the more resistance we may create.
Before you speak, listen to your body.
What happens inside you when you are about to say something important? Do you feel open and clear, or do you notice tension and pressure?
Use your breath to create some space.
Take a conscious breath before responding. Feel what is happening inside you and ask yourself:
What do I really want to say?
Then speak from there.
Today's invitation isn't to stay quiet when something needs to be said. Speak your truth. But you don't have to force it.
You don't need to make yourself say something before you're ready, and you don't need to make another person agree with you.
Your truth can be expressed clearly and consciously while still leaving space for someone else's experience.
Words carry energy. Once they are spoken, you cannot simply take them back.
So use them with awareness.
